Support our Local Farms and Local Economy

by Jay Treetop

We, at Nightfire Natural Foods, support local and sustainable agricultural practices. We have marked each locally and sustainably produced item in our store with a “Buy Local” tag. This helps you, the customer, identify these products, so that you too can support local and sustainable agriculture practices!

What is LOCAL to Nightfire?

When we say 'local' we mean products that are grown, made, produced, and available here in the State of Jefferson--Southern Oregon, Northern California--and the Pacific Northwest.

What is SUSTAINABLE to Nightfire?

When we say 'sustainable' we're referring to the method in which the product is made. Sustainable agriculture, for instance, does not support the use of pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides; it also does not use genetically altered seeds for its crops. Sustainable-minded ranchers do not use hormones, and antibiotics while caring for their animals. Also, they never keep them caged, bound, or gagged!! In general, there seems to be no difference between sustainable agriculture, and organic agriculture, other than the paperwork.

By purchasing a "Buy Local" tag at Nightfire Natural Foods, you too are making a difference towards supporting our local and sustainable agriculture!
